Don't assume Russian military vehicles are like their cars. The military vehicles, whether a Jeep, tank or truck, were and are built to a very high standard. Remember we were in a very competative cold war during the seventies. The Kremlin had to throw a lot of money at the military to enable them to build reliable iron proof trucks and tanks, and to a very high spec. The outcome was, very reliable units that could be left for months. Operate in -50 to +50 degree heat, and at the same time be very easy to maintain, with parts being often interchangeable.

The trucks make ideal extreme off road camper/motorhome vehicles. Ever watched 'The long way round' with Ewan McGregor. Watch and I think you will be very impressed with what they can do. Gaz66, Zil131 and Ural375/4320 make the ideal off road camper, with good interior space and fun to drive.
